For instance, LifeScience.com states that deer can weigh between 20 and 1,800 pounds and range in size between 14 inches and over 6 feet tall. The smallest type of deer is the Southern Pudu, and the largest is the moose. Shocked? That’s normal. The deer family actually include caribou, elk, moose, muntjacs, and wapiti. Almost all of the males in this species have antlers. However, there is one type that does not, the Chinese water deer. Also, both male and female reindeer have antlers. Attracting deer is best done with food, specifically, something called a food plot. A food plot drives the deer in your desired direction with food! Here at Daily Family Farms, we believe the best food to do this with is corn feed. However, some other common foods are apples and even peanut butter. Oddly enough, deer also love the smell of acorns, so you could either place acorns in your food plot or set off an acorn scent. Any of these options are successful ways to make homemade deer bait!
